-1/5t-2=4 , isolate the variable
in this case add 2 to both sides
-1/5t=6
divide by number next to variable
t=-30

-1/5t-2=4 +2. +2. Get rid of the negative two by adding positive two to both sides -1/5t=6 (-5/1) (-5/1) multiply -1/5 by its reciprocal on both sides to get rid of -1/5t T=-30
