To find the midpoint of the line segment we have to find the midpoint between the first component of the coordinate and the midpoint of the second coordinate so:

For the first coordinate will be:

(-4(2)/(3)+(-4(1)/(3)))/(2)

and we simplify:

((-4)/(1)(2)/(2)+(-(4)/(1)(1)/(3)))/(2)

(-(8)/(3)-(4)/(3))/(2)=(-(12)/(3))/(2)=-(6)/(3)=-2

And for the second coordinate will be:

(-1(2)/(5)+5(2)/(5))/(2)=((-2)/(5)+(10)/(5))/(2)=((8)/(5))/(2)=(4)/(5)

So the midpoint is going to be:

(-2,(4)/(5))
