Parliament permits the British East India Company to sell tea to the colonists. The tax on tea for the colonies shipped in from India was increased. The tax for tea shipped to colonies such as America was higher than the tax for the tea shipped in England. Protesters believed that the Indemnity, Townshend Revenue, and Tea Acts were violated resulting to Boston Tea Party.
