Answer:

Perimeter =2(L+B)

Area of the patio=1116 square feet

Explanation:

We are given that a patio in the shape of rectangle and fenced on all sides with 134 feet of fencing.

Let length of patio=x feet

Width of patio=x-5 feet

We know that perimeter of rectangle =
2(L+B)

Substitute the values then we get

2(x+x-5)=134

2(2x-5)=134

4x-10=134

4x=134+10

4x=144

x=(144)/(4)

x=36

Length of patio=36 feet

width of patio=36-5=31 feet

Area of rectangle =
L* B

using the formula of area of rectangle

Area of the patio=
36* 31=1116 square feet
