first subtract 4.1z on both side and you get 4.2z=10.5 then divide 4.2 on both side and you get z=2.5

First drag the positive 4.1z to the other side so you can subtract it from 8.3z
8.3z-4.1z = 10.5
8.3z-4.1z= 4.2z
4.2z=10.5
z=
(10.5 ÷ 4.2)
z=2.5 or
