The Stock Market Alexander is a stockbroker. He earns 13% commission each week. Last week, he sold $7,500 worth of stocks. How much did he make last week in commission? If he averages that same amount each week, how much did he make in commission in 2011? Last week, he made $ in commission.

we know that

He earns 13% commission each week

13%=13/100=0.13

Last week, he sold $7,500 worth of stocks

so

In commission

$7,500*0.13=$975

Part b

If he averages that same amount each week, how much did he make in commission in 2011?

Multiply the commissions of one week by the number of weeks in a year

Remember that

1 year=52 weeks

so

$975*52=$50,700
