1/3n = 4....multiply both sides by 3/1 or just 3, the reciprocal of 1/3
(3/1)(1/3)n = 4 * 3/1
n = 12

N= 12

Because ⬇️⬇️

1 over 3*n (4) = 0

Simplify ➡️ 1 over 3

(1 over 3 * n) - 4 = 0

Subtract a whole from the fraction

4 = 4 over 1 = 4 * 3 over 3

N - (4 * 3) over 3 = n - 12 over 3

N - 12 over 3 = 0

N- 12 over 3 * 3 = 0 * 3

N - 12 = 0

And that's how I how figured that "n" = 12
