Picking up 8 boxcars after 5 stops makes a total of 40 new boxcars . . . add the original 3 engines, 52 boxcars, and 1 caboose to get a total of . . . 3 + 52 + 1 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 96 total cars
