If the vertex H of a triangle is at (- 2, 2) , what are the coordinates of H in the dilation of the triangle when the origin is the center of dilation and the scale factor is 3?

The coordinates of H after the dilation is (-6,6)

Explanation:

Here, we want to get the coordinates of the image given the coordinates of the pre-image

with the dilation factor and the coordinates, what we have to do is to simply multiply each of the coordinates of the point on the vertex by 3

Mathematically, we have this as;

H’ = 3H

so;

(-2,2) becomes; (3 * -2, 3 * 2) = (-6,6)
