Explanation:

Basically what the question says is that the weight of a baby is equal to 8 plus the weight he gained. So then we can make the following equation...

w = (weight he gained) + 8

(the weight gained is equal to the age in months times 1.5 pounds, so now the formula becomes.....)

w = 1.5m + 8
