Factor the quadratic equation below. x + 5x - 14 = 0 O (X - 5) (x + 14) = 0 O (X - 5)(x - 9) = 0 O (x + 7) (x - 2) = 0 O (x + 5) (x - 14) = 0

Given the quadratic equation x + 5x - 14

On factoring

x^2 + 5x - 14 = 0

split +5x using +7x and -2x

(x^2+7x) -(2x- 14) = 0

Find the GCF in both parenthesis

x(x+7)-2(x+7) = 0

(x+7)(x-2) = 0

Hence the correct facorization is (x+7)(x-2) = 0
