$x-\ number\\\\ 31x+40=200-x\ \ \ | add\ x\\\\ 32x+40=200\ \ \ | subtract\ 40\\\\ 32x=160\ \ \ \ | divide\ by\ 32\\\\x=5\\\\Number\ is\ 5.$
