\begin{gathered} \text{perimeter of an equilateral triangle }=\text{ 3L} \\ L=\text{length of it's sides} \end{gathered}

length = 2x - 1

perimeter = 3l

substitute the value of the length into the formula


\begin{gathered} \text{perimeter = 3L} \\ 63=3(2x-1) \\ \text{open the bracket and solve for x} \\ 63=6x-3 \\ \text{collect like term} \\ 63-3=6x \\ 60=6x \\ \text{divide both sides by 6} \\ (60)/(6)=(6x)/(6) \\ x=10 \end{gathered}

the value of x equals 10
