-2 / 5y = 4
Multiply both sides by 5y:
-2/ 5y * 5y = 4 * 5y
refine: -2 = 20 y
Switch sides:
20 y = - 2
Divide both sides by 20
20 y / 20 = - 2 / 20
y = -1/10
hope this helps!

If you would like to solve the equation -2/5 * y = 4, you can do this using the following steps:
-2/5 * y = 4
2/5 * y = -4
y = -4 * 5/2
y = -20/2
y = -10
The correct result would be -10.
