Find the normality of a solution containing 20g of H2SO4(sulfuric acid) per 500ml of solution. The molar mass of H2SO4 is 98 g/eq. H2SO4 has two replaceable H+.

H2SO4 ------------- > 2 H⁺ + SO₄²⁻

g/eq = molar mass / number of H⁺

g/eq = 98 / 2

= 49 g/eq

Volume in liters = 500 mL / 1000 => 0.5 L

N = 20 / 0.5 x 49

N = 20 / 24.5

= 0.816 N
