How do i add fractions and simplify the answer

what you do as a simply way of saying it is add the top half and put it into fraction for
say the question was:
add then simplify- 2 + 3 = 5
10 10 = 10
so 5\10 ... what you do is divide... 5 divided by 10 is 2... so it would be 1\2
