Four times a number plus 3 is 11

4 * n + 3 = 11

4n + 3 = 11 -3

4n = 8

4n/4=8 / 4

n = 2

n - the number

4 · n + 3 = 11
4n + 3 = 11 |subtract 3 from both sides
4n = 8 |divide both sides by 4

n = 2
