Explanation:

We know that the distance between any two points (a,b) and (c,d) is given by :-


D=√((d-b)^2+(c-a)^2)

Then , the distance between the points A (3, 2.5) and B (3, 1.4) will be :-


D=√((1.4-2.5)^2+(3-3)^2)\\\\\Rightarrrow D= \sqrt{{(-1.1)}^2+0^2}\\\\\Rightarrow D =√(1.1^2) \\\\\Rightarrow D =1.1

Hence, the distance between the two points is 1.1 units.
