What is the difference between a positive slope and a negative slope

positive slope rises/increases
negative slope falls/decreases

Most of the time on graphs, you will either see a positive or negative slope.

Positive slope is going upwards and when you're going downwards, the slope of the line will be negative.

The first image would be an example of a positive slope and the second image provided would be an example of a negative slope.
