a(b - c) = ab - ac


5(a - 2b) - 3(a - 2b)


5a - 10b - 3a + 6b


(5a - 3a) + (-10b + 6b)


2a - 4b

5(a - 2b) - 3(a - 2b) |use distributive property: a(b - c) = ab - ac

= 5a - 10b - 3a + 6b

= (5a - 3a) + (-10b + 6b)

= 2a - 4b
