Parallel lines have equal gradients;
m=-1/2
Equation of line II;
y=mx+c
y=-1/2x+c
Replacing for y and x using point (4, -6)
-6=-2+c
-6+2=c
c=-4
y=

Parallel lines has equal slopes. Hence slope of line = -1/2
equation of line is (y - y1) = -1/2(x - x1)
y - (-6) = -1/2(x - 4)
y + 6 = -1/2x + 2
y = -1/2x + 2 - 6
y = -1/2x - 4
