2x + y = 1 . . . . . (1)
4x + 2y = -2 . . . .(2)

From (1), y = 1 - 2x . . . . . (3)

Putting (3) into (2) gives:
4x + 2(1 - 2x) = -2
4x + 2 - 4x = -2
2 = -2

Therefore, there is no x value as there is no solution for the set of equation.
