Hello

3x - 5y = 21
2x + y = 1

We need to solve 2x+y=1 for y
So now we have, y = -2x +1

Substitute -2x +1 for y in 3x-5y = 21
3x - 5y = 21
3x -5 (-2x+1)=21
3x + 10x -5= 21
13x -5 = 21
13x = 21+5
13x = 26
x= 26/13
x= 2
Now we have the value of x, with that we can find the value for y
let's do that by substitute 2 for x in y = -2x +1
y = -2x +1
y= -2(2) +1
y= -4 +1
y= -3

Final answer : Y= -3 and x= 2

I hope that's help !
