It occurs in the Calvin Cycle of photosynthesis which is the dark reaction.

Answer:

The given statement is False.

Carbon fixation takes place in dark reaction of the photosynthesis. It is the light-independent reaction in which carbon obtained from carbon dioxide is fixed in the form of sugar or glucose with the help of enzyme RuBisCO.

It generally takes place in the stroma of the chloroplast and requires ATP and NADPH which are the products of the light reaction of the photosynthesis.

The whole process can be divided into three steps:

  • Carbon fixation
  • Reduction
  • Regeneration
