The length of a rectangular lot is 200m longer than the width. The perimeter of the lot is 1000m. Find the dimensions of the lot.

length = width + 200m

Perimeter = 1000 (the sum of all the sides)

Perimeter = 2*W + 2* (w+ 200)

P = 2*W + 2*W + 2*200

Replacing the perimeter value

1000 = 2*W + 2*W + 2*200

1000 = 4*W + 400

4W = 1000- 400

w= 600/4

w= 150

The dimensions

width = 150 m

length = width + 200

= 150 + 200

= 350 m

Answer

Width = 150 m

Length = 350 m
