3 + 8/7d = -1....subtract 3 from both sides
8/7d = -1-3
8/7d = -4.....now u multiply both sides by 7/8 (the reciprocal of 8/7)
(7/8*8/7)d = 7/8 * -4
1d or just d = - 28/8 reduces to - 7/2 <==
