well if you learned about pots and coins it should help.
first start by making the equation smaller.
16x+9=9y-2x
+2 +2
18x+9=9y
x=9y-9/18
take out the 9 by both sides
x=y-1/2

remmber you can do ANYTHING to an equation as long as you do it to BOTH SIDES

solve for y

16x+9=9y-2x
add 2x to both sides
18x+9=9y
diide both sides by 9
2x+1=y
y=2x+1
