Why did so many people invest in the stock market in the 1920s?

They could buy stocks "on the margin", so the needed less initial capital.

People invested so much in the stock market because the stocks were cheap and easily accessible. Investing in wall street seemed like a sure thing and an extremely easy way to make money at that time.
