Warm-up and cool-down are an important part of any exercise programme because the prepare/ cool down the body for the exercise, prevent injuries, prepare and relax the heart,... The warm-up includes exercise that gradually increases in intensity, while the cool-down period slows down the level of activity gradually. The following exercises should be included during warm-up and cool-down times: walking and stretching.
