A cannery processed 605 pounds of strawberries in 3.5 hours. The cannnery processed 2100 pounds in 10 hours. Write a linear equation to model the weight of strawberries "S" processed in "T" hours. How many pounds of strawberries can be processed in 12 hours?

605 pounds in 3.5 hours = 605/3.5 = 172.86 lbs per hour
2100 pounds in 10 hours = 2100/10 = 210 lbs per hour

1st point (3.5,605)
2nd point (10, 2100)

slope = (2100 - 605)/10-3.5 = 1495/6.5 = 230

y = mx + b
y = 230x + b

605 = 230(3.5) + b
605 = 805 + b
605 = 805 - 200

y = 230x - 200
y = 230(12) - 200
y = 2,760 - 200
y = 2,560

2,560 lbs of strawberries in 12 hours.
