3/12=1/4 simplified and in decimal form it is .25 so it is RATIONAL because it ends. A rational number is any number that can be put into a form of a/B and B doesn't equal zero

Rational numbers are numbers that can be written as a fraction with both the numerator and denominators as whole numbers. Since 3 and 12 are whole numbers and they are in a fraction,
(3)/(12) is a rational number.
