To find out how many bananas we can buy, we will divide the total amount of dollars we have by the cost of one banana.

However, to do this, we should first transform the money to the same scale. That is, we should divide dollars by dollars or cents by cents. In our case, since it a bit easier, lets transform the 2 dollars to cents. Since 1 dollar is 100 cents, 2 dollars are 200 cents. So, we should do the following division

`(200)/(30)=(20)/(3)`

However, 20 cannot be exactly divided by 3, so we should do the following

`(20)/(3)=(18+2)/(3)=(18)/(3)+(2)/(3)=6+(2)/(3)`

Since we can't buy fractions of a banana, we should get rid of the fraction part of this number. That is, we can buy 6 bananas with 2 dollars.
