If you are muliplying exponents with the same base, then u simple add the exponents and keep the base [2^(1/2) x 2^(3/4)]^2 = [2^(5/4)]^2 which is simply the 4th root of x^5 all of it squared. The power of a power you just muliply so 5/4 x 2 = 5/2. Your answer is b.

Okay well, first of all The 2 outside the parentheses can simplify both exponents. So simplification leaves you with 2 * 2^3/2 2^3/2 can be written as sqrt2^3 Then that can be sinplified to 2sqrt2. Multiply 2 sqrt2 by 2 and you get 4 sqrt 2. So when you look at the answers, choice B, when simplified, equals 4 sqrt 2. So B should be your answer.
