slope = (5600 - 4420) / (1998 - 1993)
slope = 1180/5 = 236....so the town basically gained 236 people per yr

so in 1998 there were 5600....in 2000, 2 years later, the town would have :
5600 + 236(2) = 5600 + 472 = 6072 <==
