24 (1/3 + 1/8) ->
24/3 + 24/8 ->
8 + 3 = 11
Distribute the 24 to the numerator in each fraction. Simply the fraction (this part is easy because 24 is divisible by both 3 and 8). Then, once you have simplified the numbers, add them.
