280 gallons is 100 %

if 2% were to be lost, you will be left with 98 percent

2% of 280 is 5.6

If you take 5.6 out of 280, you will have 274.4

So 98 percent, which is 274.4 gallons remain to be used

Answer:

274.4 gallons of water remains to be used.

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of the water in the tank = 280 gallon

Volume of water lost = 2% of 280 gallon =
(2)/(100)* 280 gallon=5.6 gallon

Volume of water left after lost of 2% of water:

280 gallon - 5.6 gallon =274.4 gallon

274.4 gallons of water remains to be used.
