Why did Truman put limits on MacArthur?

Due to MacArthur's decision to move north of the 38th parallel he created a conflict with North Korea. Truman was especially concerned that MacArthur's action could cause China and Russia to come together and attack the United States.

Truman put limits on MacArthur because Truman was not happy that MacArthur moved to north of 38th parallel.
Also,MacArthur rejected the idea of peace negotiations and he was very arrogant.
