elimination of numbers with roots or surds from the denominator of the fraction
rationalising factor is the number with root present in the denominator which help us in rationalization
example
1/sqrt 2
1/sqrt 2*sqrt 2/sqrt 2
sqrt 2/2
sqrt is eliminated from denominator
