President Johnson did a great deal to help poverty stricken people during The Great Depression. Many of these things directed specifically at children. One such project was Head Start which was created for preschool children. It was an eight-week summer program to help meet their emotional, phycological, and other health needs. After that, Project Follow Through was created to further help the children from Head Start. In this new program they worked on academics and education to assist in further education and job prospects.
