When multiplying fractions you can simply multiply across. Changing the mixed fraction to an improper fraction will make this easier. To change
1 (2)/(3) from a mixed to a proper, simply multiply the denominator by the whole number (3*1) and add the numerator (3+2). The improper fraction is
(5)/(3) .

Now simply multiply across so
(5)/(3) * (7)/(8) = (5*7)/(3*8) = (35)/(24)
