-2(x-3)=5x+1
-2(x-3)-5x-1=0
Use associative property on (x-3)
-2x+2*3-5x-1=0
-2x+6-5x-1=0 -2x -5x becomes -7x +6-1 becomes 5.
-7x+5
x=5 / -7.
