So, we start off with this:

-3 = 7(y- (9)/(7) )

First, use the distributive property on the right side of the equation:

7(y - (9)/(7) ) = 7y - (63)/(7)
We can then simplify
(63)/(7) to just 9. Now, our equation is:

-3 = 7y - 9
Add 9 to both sides:

6 = 7y
And finally, divide both sides by 7:

(6)/(7) = y

And there you have it! Hope I helped, let me know if you have any questions :)
