Novelists won't always agree on what is best included. There could be a problem.

The novelist must be selective because the novel is a complex literary genre. In many cases novels are considered superficial, so the author needs to create complex and mysterious characters that arouse the interest of readers, which is not trivial. For this, the author can resort to unexpected conflicts, feelings and events. Another concern must be the plot and the scenario, which must combine so that the narrative takes place in a way that excites the readers. Therefore, the author needs to be quite selective in creating the characters and the plot of the novel, otherwise the novel can become a cliché.
