Epithelium, muscle tissue, nervous tissue, connective are all basic types of animal tissue. Epithelial tissues they line outer surface of blood vessels and organs throughout the body and in the inner surface of cavities.
A good example of epithelial tissue is the epidermis. Epithelial tissue has got three shapes which include cuboidal, columnar, and squamous. The glands which are found in the body are made of epithelial cells.
Some of the functions of epithelial tissue include selective absorption, transcellular transport, sensing, and secretion. In epithelial layers, it contains no blood vessels
