√121=?
Explain your answer.

√(121) = <strong>+11 and -11</strong>
If you take the square root of something, you are looking for what number, when squared, will give you the number within the square root.
Ex:
√(9) = 3

3^(2) = 9

so with
√(121) both
-11^(2) and
+11^(2) with give you 121

Since 11×11=12111×11=121, the square root of 121 is 11. =)
