Answer:

The prepared roast beef is 2.73 times more expensive compared to the uncooked roast

Explanation:

Uncooked beef roast is on sale for $4.99/lb

We have 1 lb = 0.453592 kg

That is 0.454 kg of uncooked beef roast is on sale for 4.99 $

\texttt{Price of 1 kg uncooked beef roast}=(4.99)/(0.454)=10.99\$

At the same grocery store, prepared roast beef is available at the deli for $2.99/100g.

Price of 1 kg prepared roast beef = 10 x 2.99 = 29.99 $

\texttt{Ratio of price of prepared roast beef to uncooked beef roast}=(29.99)/(10.99)=2.73

The prepared roast beef is 2.73 times more expensive compared to the uncooked roast

1lb is equivalent to 453.592 grams

As such 1 lb costs 4.99 dollars
This means
453.592 grams of uncooked beef cost 4.99 dollars
100g of uncooked beef cost
(100*4.99)/(453.592)
100g of uncooked beef cost 1.1 dollars
100g of cooked beef cost 2.99
Cooked beef is thus 1.89 dollars
