x^2 + 3x - 10 = x^2 - 2x + 5x - 10 = (x^2 - 2x) + (5x - 10) = x(x - 2) + 5(x - 2) = (x + 5)(x - 2)
Therefore, x + 5 is a factor of x^2 + 3x - 10

x^2 + 4x - 32 = x^2 - 4x + 8x - 32 = (x^2 - 4x) + (8x - 32) = x(x - 4) + 8(x - 4) = (x + 8)(x - 4)
Therefore, x - 4 is a factor of x^2 + 4x - 32
