Negative one times the sum of twice a number and 3 is equal to two times the difference of -4 times the number and 3. What is the number?

-1(2x + 3) = 2(-4x - 3)
-2x - 3 = -8x - 6
-2x + 8x = -6 + 3
6x = -3
x = -3/6
x = - 1/2 <== ur number

-1*3n=2*(-4*3n)
-1(3+n)=2(-4*3n)
so lets take the left hand side of the equation the first part. it says -1 times the sum of 2 times a number and 3. you are closer. just the left side first.
equals -3+-n
i think it would be -1(2n+3)= for the left hand side. that gives -1 times the entire sum of 2n (2 times a number) and 3. the and implies
-2n-3=-8n-6 +2n +2n -3=-6n-6 +6 +6 3=-6n............ -6 -6 n=-0.5
