-2 | 8-x| - 6 = -12...add 6 to both sides
-2 |8-x| = -12 + 6
-2 |8-x| = - 6...divide both sides by -2
|8-x| = -6/-2
|8-x| = 3

8 - x = -3 -(8 - x) = -3
-x = -3-8 -8 + x = -3
-x = -11 x = -3 + 8
x = 11 x = 5

not correct.....sign error
