The genetic information from the DNA is transferred to mRNA in a process called transcription. Then an enzyme called RNA polymerase II catalyzes the making of pre-mRNA. Then it is processed to form a mature mRNA. Then it becomes a single stranded mRNA and it is translated in a protein molecule.
